Local Hero

The quick-thinking and heroic actions of the skipper of the Moggill Ferry appear to have saved a life.

When a small boat collided with the Moggill Ferry last week, the skipper of the Ferry heroically dove into the water to rescue the man who had been tipped out of his small boat into the river after colliding with the ferry cable. The man suffered head injuries and without immediate rescue could have perished.

I extend my thanks and that of the community to the Moggill Ferry skipper - despite his bravery he has asked to remain out of the public eye.
