Win on Kenmore computers

Attention: open in a new window. PDFPrintE-mail

Kenmore State High School was originally granted $319,000 in January 2009 for the purchase of 319 computers. BUT after various State Government deductions for “on costs” only enough was left to purchase 110 computers.

Kenmore State High School had intended to purchase a computer for each Year 11 student.  This would allow those students 2 years of use of their computer whilst completing Senior.

I took this matter up vigorously with the State Government in Parliament.

The outcome has been that the Government has acquiesced and provided additional funding so that 297 computers will be provided.

These educational issues are really about trying to get the best outcome for our students during their education.  I am delighted to have been able to pressure the Government into providing the promised computers though I am left with the lingering feeling that it shouldn’t be necessary.
