Emergency First Responders
Friday, 14 March 2008 10:00
The proposal to set up a local ambulance first responders programs seems to have stalled.
The Queensland Ambulance is Service currently unable to provide category 1 emergency calls with a recommended time. Lives could be saved if a trained and equipped first responder is available to help in an emergency.
I met the government to get an explanation of why the implementation seems to have stalled. They claim that 10 responders are needed in order for the program to be viable but only six have been identified by Queensland Ambulance Service.
If you have an interested (and especially if you already have some relevant experience), I invite you to contact me at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it or by visiting www.moggill.net or call 3378 8020.
I will contact all those who have previously contacted me in relation to this issue.
I have also raised with the government the possibility of progressing to an ambulance site in the Bellbowrie area.
I note that this seems to have eventuated in the Samford area following the commencement of a first responder program in the Samford Valley.
