Education Minister Refuses To Meet Local Parents

Attention: open in a new window. PDFPrintE-mail

I am very disappointed that despite over three thousand local residents petitioning the State Education Minister about problems in the Mt Crosby/Karalee area with accessing suitable secondary education and a very reasonable request from parents that he meet with them or view the situation first hand, he has written back to say he is too busy.

I have no doubt that ministers are very busy people but I would think his first priority should be to the educational needs of parents and their children and there can be no doubt with the thousands of people who have raised this issue with him that this is one of the serious education issues in this State.

I addressed this matter in Parliament on Thursday 28th February. To read speech - Click Here.

I have also written again to the Minister asking him to reconsider.  Click here to read my letter to the Education Minister.
