Where do local students go to school?

I thought you would be interested in stats from the latest census about where local students go to school.
It is often said in our local area that the roads deteriorate dramatically when schools return. From the following tables and graphs it is abundantly clear why.
At primary school level the majority of local students attend one of the local State schools. In fact 70.5%.
However at secondary school it becomes a completely different story with only 36% attending any State secondary school whilst 45.9% go to private high schools and 18.1% to private Catholic high schools.
This means that across all ages from Prep to Year 12 55.3% of students attend a State school the balance a non-State school.
However the graphs for students attending schools within the local area tell a totally different story. There is no non-government high school within the area meaning that all students attending a non-government high school (that means 74% of all students) have to travel from the area. Primary schools are not much better with only Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic School and the small Brisbane Independent School being located locally.

It is no wonder that Kenmore State High School is busting at the seams and has had to impose a catchment area limitation on which students can attend. This is further compelling evidence that an additional high school is needed between Kenmore and Ipswich probably in the Mt Crosby/Karalee area.
