Local Public Transport Infrastructure Desperately Needed

After some years of making representation in relation to the lack of Park and Ride facilities for local residents, who do the right thing and leave the car behind and catch the bus, I am pleased to have had some positive response.
Many local residents are aware of the unofficial Park and Ride on the dirt at the corner of Grandview Road and Moggill Road.
I have been requesting for some years that this area near the Energex facility be turned into a properly constructed Park and Ride for local public transport users.
The Department of Main Roads has confirmed that they are preparing an options analysis for this intersection and in relation to the informal Park and Ride that exists there.
Little detail has been provided at this stage but my understanding would be that they are looking at the intersection of Grandview Road and Moggill Road itself and in conjunction with that are reviewing the possibility of a Park and Ride.
Some years ago I also approached the Government in relation to a Park and Ride along the new section of Moggill Road being developed at Kenmore. As previously announced, the Government are proposing to agree to my request that a Park and Ride be incorporated opposite Margaret Court near the site of the former Kenmore Community Church.
Throughout the discussions being had in the local area in relation to roads and transport the importance of substantial improvement to public transport infrastructure should never be overlooked.
When some further detail of the options analysis being conducted for the intersection and a possible Park and Ride becomes available I will post further information on this website.
