Government delays on Park and Ride

Attention: open in a new window. PDFPrintE-mail

Sadly the Government have indicated to local residents in the area around Margaret Court that they will be delaying construction of the Park and Ride and the signalised access from Margaret Court and the Park and Ride facility indefinitely. Given that our local area is far and away the largest State Government area within Brisbane and is yet to have a single Park and Ride facility this is unacceptable. Local residents and Moggill Road commuters as well as bus patrons have put up with appalling circumstances and delays throughout the whole botched project on Moggill Road. To find that the Government now intends to do the project “on the cheap” by delaying the promised construction of the area’s first Park and Ride just adds insult to injury. I have again written to the Department of Main Roads indicating that this is unacceptable.  The delay will clearly add both cost and more disruption when construction work has to be revisited at a future date on this now notorious section of Moggill Road.
