Moggill ferry hours need review

Attention: open in a new window. PDFPrintE-mail

Moggill ferry currently operates on the same timetable as it has for years.  During that time local roads have become more heavily congested and it is time for the timetable to be reviewed.

I have written to the Minister for Transport, Rachel Nolan suggesting that the hours of operation be extended.

Current operating hours 6am to 6.30pm are proving very limiting for many users.

Over the time the ferry has operated on this timetable local roads have become much more congested and local residents frequently leave earlier in the morning and hold their return trip until later in the evening.

If the ferry is missed at 6.30pm the only alternative then remains a lengthy drive around over Colleges Crossing.

An earlier start and a later finish would help local residents avoid some of the more congested times on our roads.

I will post any meaningful response we receive from the State Government.
