State Government refuse to commit to fast bus service to the city

I recently corresponded with Transport Minister Rachel Nolan requesting details of the State Government's plans to utilise the Northern Link Tunnel on its completion to provide additional bus services and in particular rapid transit bus services from the western suburbs of Brisbane into the city utilising this new and apparently quicker route.
Disappointingly perhaps the State Government has not indicated at this point in time any intent of providing additional quicker bus services utilising this valuable new link.
Obviously lack of speed and convenience can be significant detractors from increased use of public transport. For the most part every person that is able to catch a bus where there is a suitable service is one less car on Moggill Road and the Western Freeway. I think that this is an issue that will be worth pursuing over the construction period of the Northern Link Tunnel.
I will keep you informed.
