MOGGILL ROAD TOPS 50,000 PER DAY

I asked for a face to face meeting with the Minister for Main Roads to stress upon him the disgraceful state of traffic congestion on Moggill Road.
At the meeting I was informed that Moggill Road at Chapel Hill is now carrying over 50,000 cars per day!
Local motorists are only too aware that since the resumption of school in February and university in March Moggill Road both morning and afternoon has ground to a halt again.
I wanted to make sure that, particularly as there has been no official response from the Minister in relation to the Kenmore Bypass community consultation, he understood the serious problems local residents are having with Moggill Road particularly at both Kenmore and Chapel Hill.
Like every motorist on Moggill Road I am frustrated with the slowness of response to resolving this serious traffic issue that impacts not just motorists but public transport and cyclists as well.
I received a very good hearing from the Minister for which, on behalf of local residents, I expressed my gratitude but I did underscore that this problem is diabolical and in need of urgent attention.
I did receive an undertaking that an official response to the Kenmore Bypass Study would be released in May of this year.
