Biography

Prior to entering Parliament in 2004, Bruce was a successful and well-respected businessman and family GP. Representing the Western Suburbs seat of Moggill, Bruce resides in Brookfield and has four sons; Jonathon, Mark, Stephen and Anthony. He served as Leader of the Liberal Party until December 2007 and as Shadow Treasurer until August 2008.

Bruce has always believed in the value of hard work and the importance of family. He served his country in the Army Medical Corp at 8/9 RAR Enoggera. Bruce is a committed family man and always strives to maintain a balance between his hectic work schedule and family.

Following his Army service, Bruce spent over 20 years as a family doctor around Brisbane and Redcliffe.  During this period he was involved in a range of charities and community groups, reflecting his on-going commitment to the community.

Bruce also believes in the opportunity for all Australians to 'make a go' of things. His keen interest in business recently led him to pursue further study in the field of commerce and business.

Bruce feels privileged for having had the opportunity to represent the people in his electorate for a second term and is always keen to hear the concerns of the people he represents. In August 2008, Bruce chose not to accept a Shadow Ministerial post so that he could devote all his efforts to serving his constituents in Moggill.
