Bushfire Meeting Sunday 26th October
Tuesday, 07 October 2008 13:25
Bushfire meeting, Chapel Hill State School Hall, Sunday 26 October, 10 – 12 noon.Do you live within one kilometre of Brisbane Forest Park? Then you need to know what to do in the event of a bushfire?
Remember the Duffy fires in Canberra 5 years ago? 550 homes were burned down, many because of embers flying through the air.
Join us from 10 -12 noon on Sunday 26 October at Chapel Hill State School, Iron Bark Rd. Queensland Fire Service will give a very professional presentation about how to prepare for a bush fire. They will explain:
- What are the risks.
- Whether to stay or go.
- How to prepare your house in either case.
- Why you need to work with your neighbours.
With the continuing drought and the unseasonal rains late-Autumn, you need to be prepared.
Do bring along your neighbours.
