“Warnings” Call

Attention: open in a new window. PDFPrintE-mail

Today I asked local police to enforce the new school speed zone in central Kenmore by issuing warnings to motorists who exceed the 40 kph speed limit.

It is apparent that many local residents are as yet unaware of changed road rules in central Kenmore.

I observed traffic this morning, the first morning of the new zone and it appeared some motorists just didn’t see the new signs.

This should be an exercise in making our local school children safer not raising revenue.

That’s why it would be appropriate during the settling in period for motorists to be issued warnings rather than fines and demerit points.

Police presence can play a valuable role in making sure local motorists are aware of the changes.
