Building the Education Revolution
Dr FLEGG (Moggill—LNP) (12.38 pm): The BER program to build school buildings acrossAustralia is one of the largest public works expenditures in this nation’s history, costing $16 billion across Australia and over $2 billion in Queensland. One can only describe it as a bitter disappointmentas it has been bungled like the home insulation scheme. This has been a lost opportunity, as a sensational amount of money has been made available to education but it has delivered so little. The outrageous rorts in this scheme are now well documented and they continue to be revealed on a weekly basis.
